First Berlin has been providing capital market services for the past 13 years. The founder of the firm, Martin Bailey, has been active in investment banking since the mid-1980s. Mr. Bailey has been owner and Managing Director of First Berlin since its foundation in 1998. During this time he has utilised his expertise in international stock markets to establish a vast network of business relationships. First Berlin had a JV with Commerzbank from 2005 to 2008. Since 2009 First Berlin cooperates with DZ Bank and has taken over research coverage of small caps for DZ. Since 2008 First Berlin has been offering a front desk, which existed as “Capital Market Services and Sales”. In July 2009 this front desk was restructured as the firm First Berlin Securities Brokerage (FBSB) in order to realise the full potential of this growing area of the business. FBSB has a cooperation with Steubing AG, a financial services firm, through which FBSB acts as a broker for capital market transactions.
